Wednesday webinar at one: Human capital matters (Fully Booked)
Wed 17 Apr 19 at WEBINAR, Link will be emailed closer to the time

Amy Wilson of Hermes Equity Ownership Services will examine the strategic implications for companies of a knowledge-based economy with human capital as a fundamental driver of sustainability.

McKinsey & co predicts that up to 30% of the workforce could be displaced by fast changing technology in the next decade. This is now challenging the nature of work and corporate social responsibility. Conversely, over the last 30 years, the proportion of company value that can be attributed to intangible assets has increased significantly to over 80% from 20% (source: MSCI, S&P 500 market value).

Accounting practices struggle to value these and altogether fail to value human capital, which lacks a robust disclosure framework. Yet, in a predominantly knowledge-based economy, human capital has become a fundamental driver of sustained business performance.

During this webinar, Amy will look to answer the following questions:

  • What are the strategic implications for companies?
  • What is the link to performance?
  • How can investors assess workforce management in particular?
