Author Series: Bankers and Bolsheviks - Lessons for modern-day investors from the Russian revolution
Tue 22 Jan 19 at Farmers & Fletchers, London

This author series event invites Hassan Malik, CFA, to discuss his first book ‘Bankers and Bolsheviks: International Finance and the Russian Revolution’, which tells the story of the largest sovereign default in history, which took place in Russia in 1918 after a decades-long investment boom fed by European and American investors.

Hassan Malik will discuss lessons that today’s investment professionals can learn from the Russian investment boom and sovereign default of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, drawing on his experience as a practitioner and investment strategist focusing on Emerging Markets and Europe.

The event will be relevant to investors with an interest in emerging markets, European and American banking, sovereign debt, investment banking, and political risk, amongst other things.
